A complete communications infrastructure

Over the years, Wireless Innovation engineers have learnt the legacy protocols as used by SCADA/Telemetry systems in order to make them operate and ensure the optimum performance of the satellite solution. As a result, we have a unique understanding of SCADA/Telemetry systems and genuinely ‘speak the language’ of the end user.

Our philosophy of taking responsibility for the complete end-to-end communications infrastructure - and having the skills to do so - has provided a risk free route to a satellite solution for many organisations. As a result, Wireless Innovation has been commissioned to draw on its unique knowledge of the SCADA/Telemetry system to apply satellite communication solutions to many applications throughout the Electricity market sector.

A future-proof solution

One such application has allowed for the monitoring and control of the country-wide electricity grid, including the control of substations in remote areas. The satellite system (in this case VSAT based) is being extended to provide for the relevant monitoring and control of newly commissioned windfarms to be able to join the electricity grid, and thereby provide the operator with the necessary real time status of the windfarm such as power generated, actual transmission voltage, alarms etc.

Real-time monitoring

Other regional electrical generation/distribution organisations have used the knowledge of Wireless Innovation engineers to deploy satellite solutions that provide real time monitoring control of remote transformers sites as well as substations often in extremely remote locations, such as islands, whilst electrical generation organisations have used the satellite solution for monitoring and control of Hydro Stations.
