Companies Get Royal Approval

Tuesday, July 13, 2010,

COUNTY firms were praised for "putting the Great in Great Britain" by the Lord Lieutenant Sir Henry Elwes when he presented Queen's Awards for Enterprise last week.

Sir Henry, the Queen's official representative in Gloucestershire, said the county punched well above its weight when it came to winning the prestigious awards.

Last week Sir Henry visited winners Vero Software in Bayshill Road, Cheltenham and Wireless Innovation of Churcham, which both received the accolades for international trade.

Wireless Innovation, based at Churcham Business Park, was started in 2004 and employs 17 people.

The firm provides satellite and wireless networks systems for remote monitoring in the UK and overseas of sites including renewable energy, water, electricity, gas and sustainable tree logging.

The company has customers in more than 50 countries and export earnings have almost tripled over the last three years.
